An Upper Darby man, Dante Easley, 24, is arrested for possessing a stolen Glock handgun equipped with a “Glock switch,” which transforms the firearm into an automatic weapon. The arrest follows a police officer’s observation of a suspicious vehicle, where the occupants were acting evasively and marijuana was detected, prompting further investigation.
Police recovered two firearms from the vehicle, one identified as having been reported stolen in Cheltenham Township. Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt emphasizes the dangers of illegal firearms in the community, highlighting the proactive actions of law enforcement that prevented a potential crime from occurring. Easley is now held on $50,000 bail at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility after being charged with several offenses, including receiving stolen property.
