Upstate Man Sentenced to Life for Violent Armed Robbery

A Cherokee County man, Wardarious Brown, is sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of attempted murder and armed robbery stemming from a violent incident in 2021. On December 30, Brown forced his way into a Blacksburg home, where he ransacked the property, threatened the occupants, and shot one person who attempted to flee.

During his trial, compelling evidence including gunshot residue and witness testimony led the jury to render a guilty verdict on several charges, including burglary and unlawful firearm possession. Deputy Solicitor Kim Leskanic emphasized the long-lasting impact of Brown’s actions on his victims and commended the police’s diligent work in securing justice.
