During a recent court hearing in California, constitutional law expert David Coale discussed the challenges the lawsuit faces, particularly existing federal protections that shield both gun manufacturers and tech companies from such legal claims. If the parents succeed in claiming that these companies bear responsibility, it could set a significant legal precedent, potentially allowing them to proceed to trial and uncover more information about the events leading to the tragic shooting.
