Vestal Man Admits to Illegal Firearm Possession

A Vestal man, Neal Morrison, pleads guilty to illegally possessing firearms in connection with two incidents earlier this year. On April 21, police discovered a shotgun after responding to Morrison’s erratic behavior, which included signs of paranoia and hallucinations. Following a brief period of arrest, he was later found with another firearm under him in Endicott on May 29, leading to his current charges.

Broome County District Attorney Paul Battisti highlighted the seriousness of firearm possession violations, noting the potential threats to public safety. Morrison’s plea deal is set to result in an eight-year sentence with five years of post-release supervision, underscoring the collaborative efforts of law enforcement. He is scheduled for sentencing on October 9, 2025, following this troubling case.
