Kansas City police have identified the victims of a mass shooting that occurred near the Power & Light District on August 24. The deceased include 24-year-old Kane Taddese and 18-year-old John Alaro, with multiple other individuals suffering gunshot wounds during the incident which took place around 4 a.m. at the intersection of 13th and Grand.
Authorities reported that emergency crews found five victims at the scene, with one pronounced dead on arrival and another succumbing to injuries later at a hospital. Investigators are currently analyzing video footage and canvassing the area for more evidence to understand the events leading to the incident, which reportedly began with an altercation among multiple individuals. Police are treating the case as a homicide.
