Virginia Man Arrested for Armed Robbery at Food Mart

Authorities have arrested Christopher Lee Childs, 39, in connection with an armed robbery at the Express Food Mart in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The incident occurred on May 15, 2025, when Childs allegedly brandished a firearm and demanded money from the store clerk while masking his identity.

Following the robbery, a police K9 attempted to track Childs but was unsuccessful. However, detectives subsequently linked him to the crime and discovered evidence related to the robbery at his home. Childs now faces charges including attempted robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and he remains in custody without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
