Walmart Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested in Battle Ground

Battle Ground police have arrested 35-year-old Raymond Baca, who allegedly attempted to rob a Walmart by brandishing a knife while fleeing with $1,500 worth of merchandise. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, leading to a brief standoff when officers located him in a vehicle at a nearby apartment complex.

Police responded swiftly after witnesses reported the theft, and upon confronting Baca, he displayed threatening behavior before escaping. The situation escalated into a barricade scenario that ended peacefully with Baca’s arrest. Authorities noted that Baca is also wanted for a parole violation related to a previous attempted robbery charge in Portland.
