Marshall Gause, a 22-year-old from Watervliet, pleads guilty to two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in Albany County Court. Following his arrest in August, police discovered a loaded gun with an extended magazine and approximately 11 grams of cocaine, which Gause intended to sell, after he attempted to dispose of the evidence by throwing it out of a window.
As a result of his plea, Gause has been placed under electronic monitoring and house arrest until his sentencing on December 18, where he faces a potential seven-year prison sentence. This case highlights ongoing concerns regarding illegal firearms and drug trafficking in the community.
