A 46-year-old Watervliet man, Sean Patrick, is sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for illegally manufacturing and selling firearms. Patrick admitted to creating and selling four non-serialized, semi-automatic pistols over a 17-month period without the necessary federal licensing or paperwork, raising concerns over community safety.
During a November 2022 search of Patrick’s home, federal agents discovered four additional “ghost guns,” a modified pistol, fabrication tools, and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition. The case, which highlights the dangers of unregulated gun sales, was investigated by the FBI and local police, resulting in significant penalties for Patrick, including a $7,500 fine and a three-year supervised release following his prison term.
