Watsonville Police Chief David Rodriguez successfully apprehends 18-year-old gang member Issac Sigala on November 25, following a brief but intense pursuit. Sigala attempted to evade arrest by fleeing on foot, jumping fences, and climbing rooftops in an effort to escape police intervention.
Upon capturing Sigala behind a carwash on East Lake Avenue, police discovered a loaded short-barreled AR-pistol, a high-capacity magazine, and over 54 grams of marijuana inside his backpack. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding gang-related violence and illegal firearms in the community, as Sigala now faces multiple felony charges, including firearm possession and gang participation.
