Webster police arrest a convicted felon after discovering an untraceable handgun, known as a ghost gun, during a routine warrant enforcement. Officer Nicholas Caruso initiated the intervention when he recognized Preston Jackson, a 41-year-old from Webster, as a passenger in a vehicle associated with an outstanding warrant.
Upon arresting Jackson, officers searched his backpack and found a Polymer 80 handgun that lacked a serial number, along with a loaded high-capacity magazine and loose ammunition. Jackson has an extensive criminal history, with 34 previous firearms offenses and 22 convictions related to gun crimes, making his possession of any firearms illegal. He faces multiple charges and a bail set at $50,000, highlighting ongoing concerns about firearm regulation and public safety.
