Navon Shemar Freeman, a 24-year-old from Wilson, North Carolina, is sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to significant drug and firearm charges. Freeman admitted to planning to distribute over 40 grams of fentanyl and was found in possession of a firearm, which he used to facilitate drug trafficking, as part of a case investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and local law enforcement.
In July 2023, authorities received tips about Freeman’s narcotics dealings, leading to a search of his residence where they discovered fentanyl pills and firearms. Notably, one firearm was modified with a fully operational 3-D printed “switch,” capable of converting it to fully automatic, raising serious concerns about community safety and the proliferation of illegal firearms.
