Wisconsin DNR Launches Wildlife Stamp Art Contest

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invites artists to participate in its annual wildlife stamp design contest for the 2026 hunting season, an initiative that blends artistic expression with crucial conservation funding. The sales of these stamps, required for bird hunting enthusiasts targeting species like turkey and waterfowl, support a range of species management efforts, including habitat restoration and education initiatives.

Artists have until August 1 to submit their designs, which will be judged during the Waterfowl Hunters Expo in Oshkosh on August 23. Last year’s winners included Robert Leum, who clinched both the Wild Turkey and Pheasant stamp contests, highlighting the vibrant art community in Wisconsin. For aspiring participants, the DNR stresses the importance of adhering to detailed contest rules and technical requirements outlined on their contest webpage.
