A 49-year-old man from York Harbour has been charged with several firearms-related offences, including careless use of a firearm and possession of prohibited weapons with ammunition. This follows a police operation where officers from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) seized illegal firearms during a search of the man’s residence in the community.
The Criminal Investigation Division of the RNC has taken into custody the accused, who has since been released and is scheduled to appear in provincial court at a later date. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about firearms offences in the area to come forward to aid the ongoing investigation.
