Ten-year-old Gatlin Vercoe, alongside his grandfather, successfully bagged his first buck, a notable 4 by 4, marking a special milestone in his family tradition of hunting.
As part of the event, participating youth must be legally licensed and accompanied by a non-hunting adult. Gatlin’s mother highlighted the significance of this rite of passage, reflecting on the valuable lessons learned about hunting regulations and the skills required for a successful hunt. The general big game rifle season opens on October 25, promising more outdoor adventure in the weeks ahead.
