The report, which analyzes 5,462 incidents, indicates that September is particularly dangerous, showing 728 incidents coinciding with back-to-school season.
In addition to identifying significant trends, such as outdoor spaces being the site of the majority of gun incidents, the report highlights that 30% of incidents are fatal. The prevalence of handguns, found in over 2,120 cases, and the alarming number of elusive suspects—1,885 who escaped capture—reflect the complexities law enforcement faces.
