ZeroEyes has released its annual Gun Violence Report, revealing that a staggering 90% of gun incidents in the United States resulted in injury or death, underscoring the urgent nature of the gun violence crisis. The report, which analyzes 5,462 incidents, indicates that September is particularly dangerous, showing 728 incidents coinciding with back-to-school season.
In addition to identifying significant trends, such as outdoor spaces being the site of the majority of gun incidents, the report highlights that 30% of incidents are fatal. The prevalence of handguns, found in over 2,120 cases, and the alarming number of elusive suspects—1,885 who escaped capture—reflect the complexities law enforcement faces. These insights aim to inform and equip communities with strategies to enhance security and prevention efforts.
