Danbury Woman Sentenced for Assault with Ghost Gun

A 30-year-old Danbury woman, Janelle Myers, has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting a woman while wielding an untraceable firearm, known as a “ghost gun.” During the October 2023 incident, court documents reveal that Myers threatened the victim, who was in the presence of her minor daughter, and physically assaulted her while brandishing the weapon.

This case highlights the growing concern over illegal firearms and violent crime. Myers originally faced a slew of charges, including first-degree assault and criminal use of a weapon, before reaching a plea deal that reduced her sentenced time. She will serve her sentence at the York Correctional Institution in Niantic after failing to post bail set at $750,000.
