Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter emphasizes the program’s importance in light of recent tragic incidents involving children and firearms. With a commitment to continue teaching gun safety quarterly in grades K-3, the prosecutor’s office aims to expand the program to all schools in Lake County within the next two years, hoping to prevent further tragedies and raise awareness among the youth about the serious implications of gun mishandling.
