The Savannah Police Department has arrested James T. Campbell, 35, and seized 18 firearms in a significant crackdown on illegal gun manufacturing. The operation, involving SPD’s Strategic Investigations Unit and SWAT, targeted a residence on Edgewater Road following an extensive investigation into the production and sale of untraceable ghost guns.
In addition to the firearms, law enforcement officials recovered firearm accessories, manufacturing tools, and narcotics. Campbell faces multiple charges related to firearm possession as a convicted felon. Savannah Police Chief Lenny B. Gunther commended the collaborative effort in removing potentially dangerous weapons from the streets, stressing the importance of public safety in ongoing investigations.
