Willimantic police have arrested 50-year-old Jerry Perez-Cartagena in connection with an armed robbery at a Valero gas station, where a clerk was threatened with what appeared to be a black pistol. The incident, which occurred on December 26, 2024, resulted in the theft of approximately $710 in cash from the store.
Perez-Cartagena faces serious charges, including first-degree robbery and second-degree assault against an elder individual, as he reportedly attacked the clerk during the robbery. He is currently held on a $250,000 cash-surety bond and is set to appear in court this Tuesday to address these charges.
