Greenville Man Arrested for Possession of Ghost Gun

A 46-year-old Greenville resident, Oliver Jackson, is under arrest for felony possession of a firearm following the discovery of a hidden loaded ghost gun in his car. The arrest occurred on March 1 when a detective from the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation after noticing Jackson’s vehicle parked outside a Dollar General store in Grimesland.

The ghost gun, which lacks a serial number and is thus untraceable, raises significant legal and safety concerns due to its assembly from legally purchased parts. Jackson, already a felon, faces additional charges for carrying a concealed weapon and has been placed under a secured bond of $50,000 at the Pitt County Detention Center.
